NEWBecky Harman - 2006 Ultra Runner of
the Year
The six race directors of the Western New York Ultra
Series have unanimously recognized Becky Harman as the 2006 Western New York
Ultra Runner of the Year. Last year, when Harman was named
2005 Ultra Runner of the Year for her
record setting wins at at the Highland Forest 1-2-3, the Mendon Trail Run
50K and in the non-scoring 50K at the Finger Lakes Fifties, we remarked
that, "It is only a matter of time before she joins the ranks of the elite
women who have won an ultra outright." Well, Harman proved us right
three times over with outright wins at the Green Lakes 100K,
Canandaigua 50 Mile and Mendon 50K.
